In defense of Rich Mullins anyway, he inadvertently helped to turn me Lutheran, as his views on grace were significantly different from the currents of American evangelicalism in which I was running. ;o)
Interesting . . .
Yeah, I'm not defending the sillier lyrics of CCM or anything like that though... in fact I think this guy would have be the first to roll his eyes at his own goofy lyrics, or the way this song took off in CCM-land. I've heard him speak eloquently about how terrible it is that people have been valuing worship for its entertainment value these days, and the "high" or "buzz" it's supposed to produce.
